The Devils
Biography
THE DEVILS formed in Naples, Italy 2015, burst onto the music scene with raw energy. Their first two albums, Sin, You Sinners! (2016) and Iron Butt (2017) were produced by the renowned Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Sonics) and released under Voodoo Rhythm Records. Since 2016, they have taken their wild sound on the road, delivering over 600 shows across Europe, the UK, and Canada.
Gianni Blacula rapes the guitar, and Erika Switchblade hits the drums. The Devils embody the definitive sound of chaos with a primal sound that fuses sex, sin, and Rock ’n’ Roll. They are wild, very loud, and sexy. The band draws its name from Ken Russell’s iconic film The Devils (1971), further emphasizing their rebellious spirit.
Their third album, Beast Must Regret Nothing (2021), showcased the talents of Alain Johannes (QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Chris Cornell, PJ Harvey) as producer, featuring the legendary Mark Lanegan on lead vocals for the track “Devil Whistle Don’t Sing.” The following studio album, Let The World Burn Down, released in February 2024 by Go Down Records, again highlights Johannes, who contributed to mixing, mastering, and guitar solos for the song “Horror and Desire.” The duo released its first live album through the same label in January 2023. 2025 marks their 10th anniversary with the anticipated sixth album, Devil’s Got It, featuring a mix of blues and soul covers, also mixed and mastered by Alain Johannes.
Over the years, The Devils have shared the stage with the likes of The Sonics, Jon Spencer & The Hitmakers, Boss Hog, Mudhoney, and GBH. They have graced major European festivals like Azkena Rock Festival and Helldorado, increasing their fanbase.
