RAIKINAS is a stoner band from Ossi, Sardinia. The project was born in 2008, but its line-up changed many times. In summer 2011 the 2 founders of the band, the bassist Marco Nieddu and the drummer Gabriele Fancellu, met the guitarist Antonio Pilo in a recording studio. He joined the band and gave new passion, after an year of hiatus. They composed new tracks with a new sound. Other 2 new members joined the band, the singer Alfredo Carboni and Alfredo Farina on second guitar. This formation recorded the 1st full length album, called Like A Monkey. It was recorded by Cristian Scarponi (Necrodeath, Cadaveria) and its sound is a blend of metal and crossover, with stoner and sludge structures. In June 2012 the guitarist Alfredo Farina left the band. Raikinas decided to go on as a fourtet and in August 2012 they self-released a second album, that was produced by Art Eifel e.v. (Germany). It was promoted with the music video "Under the Flowers". The band toured across their homeland but also across Germany, playing 7 gigs in the cities of Cologne, Aremberg, Euskirchen and Kall.
