GLINCOLTI - s/t

GLINCOLTI plays a lethal mix of funk, prog and jazz fusion. The band is a raw diamond and has a lot of courage playing instrumental music. In Italy their genre is followed by few devoted fans. It's not a matter of chance if famous Italian musician and composer Enrico Gabrielli (Calibro 35, Der Maurer, Mariposa) appears as a special guest. 13 brilliant tracks that range from latin and South America sounds to mellow atmospheres that recall the Italian prog band PFM, to unexpected funky sound explosions that make throb your feet! The track "Hutchinson" reminds Thomas Milian acting as "Er Monnezza" on 70s Italian cult action movies. The famous band Oliver Onions is only one of the inspirations of this album. The band loves the groove of funky, just like in the golden era of Kool And The Gang and Earth Wind And Fire. It's an album with great depth and sophisticated composition, even if the band is very young. It's robust, ensuring timely and exciting, there are a good and clean rhythm section, refined guitar riffs and beautiful and unusual woodwinds played by Alessandro Brunetta.
