CUT hit the studio to record their long-awaited album Annihilation Road in the winter of 2009. It was recorded and mixed by Matt Verta-Ray (formerly of New York bands Madder Rose, Speedball Baby, and Heavy Trash) at his N.Y. HED Studios in November. It was mastered by Ivan Julian from the legendary punk/new wave outfit Richard Hell and The Voidoids, in March 2010. Matt Verta-Ray worked with artists such as The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, 20 Miles, Kid Congo Powers, Ronnie Spector, Andre Williams, Mick Collins, Mooney Suzuki, Robert Quine, and many more. He certainly was the right man to capture the raw power of CUT. Furthermore, Annihilation Road marks the beginning of the band’s deal with the mighty Go Down Records, the Italian indie label that is keeping the flame burning for all Rock'n'Roll lovers. Born in the guts of Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the record features fourteen energy-ridden tracks, exploring every nuance of the band’s sound: from the Garage Rock explosions to the Post-punk angularities, from the bluesy overtones to the noisy escapades. This album rocks with the urgency and desperate intensity that is often missing from contemporary rock music. Don’t let it pass you by!
