Ghostwound
Biography
GHOSTWOUND is the union of four non-conformist rockers who decided to form a band in Milan in 2020. These “cursed heroes in search of redemption” come from various projects active in the unhealthy meanders of the Milanese underground music scene — Matra, Lord Shani, Free The Nation, Noise Under Dreaming, PsicoTaxi, just to name a few.
In their past, however, perhaps due to their wacky and erratic lifestyle, or most probably, due to their childish and ridiculous desire to think of themselves as invincible and immortal, it is because of this hubris that, in short, they have thrown away the few favourable opportunities that the life of an artist offers, ending up missing all the trains. All, but one. It is in this symbolic, old, and battered locomotive that they found the common feeling in creating a style that inserts sudden Space Funk 70s incursions into a solid ground of Psychedelic Rock dominated by guitarist Paolo Bramino's fat mixture of fuzz and delays and Michele Ricciardi's analog synth. These guidelines of their musical language are complemented by a dreamy vocal style that contributes to creating the innovative contrast that was a source of inspiration for the writing of ten original songs, recorded in two different sessions by Gianluca Mancini at MaiTai Studio and mixed by Paolo Bramino. In the meantime, Ghostwound began the live activity that led them to share the stage with Giöbia, Black Delta Movement, Da Captain Trips, Huge Molasses Tank Explodes, Diplomatics, The Devils, Bluedaze and more.
In 2024, the band signed for Go Down Records to release their eponymous debut album.
