Ananda Mida

Biography

Ananda Mida is a Stoner and Psychedelic Rock music collective, led by Max Ear (OJM’s drummer and Art Director at Go Down Records) alongside Matteo Pablo Scolaro. From the project's inception, graphic imagery has been essential, thanks to a collaboration with visual artist Eeviac. Since 2015, they have performed with various lineups of three to six members, either instrumental or featuring singers. Their sound is inspired by 70s Rock, blended with desert and psychedelic grooves.

In 2015, they debuted with the double A-sided 7-inch Aktavas/Passavas, which laid the foundation for the band’s mythology, drawing fragments of enigmatic teachings. In Fall 2016, they released their first full-length Anodnatius, co-produced by Go Down Records and Vincebus Eruptum Recordings. It evokes positive forces and subtle vibrations present within and around us. In January 2019, the second chapter, Cathodnatius, was dropped, depicting the opposing forces and obscure vibes we encounter today. This record featured Conny Ochs on vocals and was issued on vinyl, CD, and digital formats by Go Down and Vincebus Eruptum. In June 2021, the band launched the live EP Karnak on a picture-back disc deluxe edition, featuring a special appearance by Desert Rock icon Mario Lalli on guitar. Their third release, Reconciler, came out in November 2023, “mythologically” completing the trilogy. In July 2024, the band released their first live album, Live at Duna Jam, on the Heavy Psych Sounds label, perfectly sealing their first decade of work.

Ananda Mida performed throughout Europe, supporting bands like BRMC, Black Mountain, Colour Haze, Fatso Jetson, Yawning Man, The Atomic Bitchwax, Nebula, and White Hills. They joined festivals such as Heavy Psych Sound Fest, Psyka Winter Psychout Fest, Keep It Low Festival, Dome of Rock, Cosmic Desert Winter, ACieloAperto, Stoned From The Underground, Desert Fox Fest, Krakatoa, Duna Jam, and Maximum Festival.
